ART-e-FAKT is a scientific research collaboration project by the Berlin-based music company Piranha Arts AG, the Institute for Applied Informatics e.V. (InfAI) e.V., adjunct institute of the University of Leipzig, and AGETO AG, an IT consultancy for web-based business processes. The project deals with problems caused by various media discontinuities that disrupt the administration of business-data within the music industry. Project goal is a seamless management of this data, in order to eliminate the source of mistakes that lies in manual transfer and to design efficient processes, supported by suitable information technology. The project is funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) [German Federal Ministry of Education and Research], funding number 01IS12035.
